Shawn Yingling Takes the Helm at Glatfelter Healthcare Practice

York, Pa. — May 5, 2014 — Glatfelter Program Managers (GPM), a strategic business unit dedicated to Glatfelter Insurance Group’s program business, has appointed Shawn Yingling as president of Glatfelter Healthcare Practice, effective today. Yingling is currently president of Glatfelter Religious Practice (GRP) and will maintain this role.

Yingling is a 26-year veteran of insurance program business. In 1988, he joined Glatfelter as a commercial underwriting specialist for the VFIS program, and then joined the Claims Department as a liability claims representative. Later, he was promoted to regional marketing representative for Glatfelter’s Ambulance Insurance Services, served as a producer for VFIS and then was promoted to Pennsylvania marketing and sales manager. In 2012, he was hired to lead GRP.

Licensed in all states, Yingling’s insurance designations include: Associate in Underwriting (AU), Associate in Claims (AIC), Accredited Advisor of Insurance (AAI), Associate in Insurance Services (AIS), Associate in Customer Services (ACS) and Certified Professional Insurance Agent (CPIA). He is currently working toward the Chartered Property and Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) and Associate in Management (AIM) designations. Yingling holds a bachelors’ degree from the Pennsylvania State University.

Sue Federinko, who led GHP as a senior vice president since 2013, retains this title as she moves to a leadership role on GHP’s sales team and assumes responsibility for all relationships with the program’s “Most Valuable Producers (MVPs).” She will also oversee all GHP territory east of the Mississippi and is responsible for expanding GHP’s distribution.

Larissa Tosch Named Chief Information Officer of Glatfelter Insurance Group

YORK, Pa., Jan. 6, 2014—Glatfelter Insurance Group (GIG), an all-lines, full-service insurance broker, today announced the promotion of Larissa Tosch to vice president/chief information officer (CIO). In this new role, Tosch is responsible for leading and overseeing GIG’s information technology infrastructure and staff, as well as application systems.

A GIG associate since August 1999, Tosch has worked through positions of increasing responsibility and leadership, most recently serving as applications director. In 2009, she began GIG’s PMO program and governance initiatives, and managed nearly all of the company’s insurance applications at various times.

She was previously manager of business systems and an application developer, and she has also worked closely with the GIG business unit. Tosch has a bachelor of science degree in Computer Science from Elizabethtown College and is currently pursuing an MBA at York College.

Glatfelter Expands Private and Charter School Program

York, Pa. – December 3, 2013 – Glatfelter Public Practice (GPP) today announced the expansion of its private and charter school insurance program with specialized coverage for private schools, charter schools and select religious schools. The program is now available in 38 states for eligible private and religious schools and in 27 states for eligible charter schools.

Written through Zurich, rated “A+” (Superior) by A.M. Best, the program has no minimum premium and is specifically designed for private and charter schools typically smaller than other educational institutions written through GPP. It includes coverage for schools that have dormitories for student housing.

Glatfelter Risk Control Receives Public Sector Safety Award

Department head and team recognized for contribution to ASSE technical literature

July 29, 2013 — Daniel Mahoney, CIH, CSP, Vice President of Risk Control at Glatfelter Public Practice (GPP) was the recipient of the American Society of Safety Engineers (ASSE) Public Practice Specialty Safety Professional of the Year Award. This award program recognizes safety professionals who have made a significant contribution to advancing the profession.

The award was announced on June 26th at ASSE’s Safety 2013 Professional Development Conference & Exposition in Las Vegas.

Mahoney and his team at the GPP Risk Control Department are active ASSE members. This award recognized the entire department for their consistent publication of valuable technical articles in the ASSE Public Sector Practice Specialty Newsletter.

Mahoney has been a part of the Risk Control team at Glatfelter Public Practice for 9 years. He is a Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH), and Certified Safety Professional (CSP) and holds a bachelors of science from The Pennsylvania State University.
